How to make scooter-riding as safe as possible

The ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation) website provides information for scooter riders and their parents1. This includes a few simple steps you can take to make scooter riding as safe as possible:

On a scooter if your child crashes they will fall hard. Make sure they wear:
  • a helmet
  • wrist guards
  • knee and elbow pads
The ACC information suggests things for parents to keep in mind when buying a scooter and also provides safety messages for scooter riders.
