After six months, your baby's first teeth begin to come through and it's important to think about keeping them healthy. So what can be done?
By two and a half, most children will have 20 primary teeth. Good eating habits begin with toddlers. Occasional snacks like mid-morning and mid-afternoon are all right, but avoid children carrying food or drink bottles around and eating all the time. Give teeth a rest!
Most children start school with all their baby teeth. Adult teeth usually start to come through around six years of age. Children are entitled to receive free dental treatment within the School Dental Service - usually until 12 years of age.
