Family Information Service

The Family Information Service is a free service that provides families/whanau/caregivers with up-to-date, easy-to-read consumer health information on children's medical conditions and disabilities, including support group contact details.

Ask your healthcare team if you would like information on:

  • medical conditions and treatments
  • disabilities, genetic conditions
  • hospitalisation
  • support groups
  • coping with death and illness
  • parenting issues relating to children with health problems or disabilities
  • mental health issues

There is a small library of books and videos/dvds that can be borrowed by families while their child is in hospital.

 

Referral Expectations

No referral is needed to access this service. You may also ask your health professional to request information on your behalf.
