Primary health organisations (PHOs) are funded by district health boards to support the provision of essential primary health care services through general practices to those people who are enrolled with the PHO. See information about enrolment in a PHO.
There are currently 20 district health boards (DHBs) in New Zealand. Each DHB is responsible for providing health and disability services in their district. Together, the 20 DHBs are responsible for providing health and disability services for the people of New Zealand. See:
