Method
  1. Peel and chop the kūmara into one centimetre pieces.
  2. Drain the chickpeas and rinse well.
  3. Cook chickpeas and kūmara in boiling water until soft.
  4. Mash or puree in a food processor or blender.
  5. Stir through enough breastmilk or formula to make a smooth puree.
  6. Freeze leftover cooled puree in ice cube trays.
Notes

If you puree until very smooth, you can feed this recipe to a baby when starting solid foods at around 6 months.
