Method
  1. Mix custard powder and ¼ cup of milk together in a jug until smooth (no lumps).
  2. Pour custard powder mix, remaining milk, sugar and vanilla into a small pot. Stir well to mix.
  3. Heat at a medium temperature, stirring often, until it comes to the boil.
  4. Simmer for 1 minute or until thickened, then remove from the heat.
