- Combine yeast, sugar and water in a small bowl. Stir then leave it until foamy.
- Place flour and salt in a large bowl and make a well in the centre.
- Add the yeast mixture and oil to the flour and mix together to make a doughy ball.
- Tip the dough out onto the bench and knead for 4 to 5 minutes until it is smooth.
- Place dough in a large lightly-oiled bowl and cover with a tea towel or plastic wrap.
- Leave dough in a warm place for 30 to 40 minutes until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Sprinkle a small amount of flour on the bench and roll the dough out into a rectangle - about 40 centimetres by 25 centimetres.
- Spread with Marmite or Vegemite and sprinkle on the cheese. Roll up from the longest side to create a log.
- Cut log into 12 even slices and lie them flat (but not touching) on a greased baking tray.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden and puffed.
For a change, make these with cheese and your favourite relish or chutney.
