Here at PlunketLine we have this video conference service, where we can provide like a breastfeeding consult through the video conferencing.
I mean, it's a big thing, breastfeeding.
Some women have this idea of how it might be. It might be my perception that it's gonna be great, and you're going to feed your baby for a year and then things can crop up along the way, and getting support can be quite hard.
From home, mums can have a consult through phone, laptop and they can be right there and get that professional advice.
Baby, when they're coming on, getting the chin under the nipple. So if we get baby on, line the nipple up to the nose and then we bring baby on, we don't push forward into baby's mouth.
It's really helpful by having a service it's a video conference, in terms of people that maybe transport is an issue, or live rurally, it knocks down those barriers so they can still get that advice and hopefully help them with their breastfeeding journey.
