Some good foods when your baby's starting on solids are:

Vegetables (potato, pumpkin, kumara, kamokamo, cassava), bought baby food, baby cereal, rice,  bowls of meat and legumes, fruit (apple, pear, mango, banana)

Iron-fortified infant cereal/baby rice.

Cooked and puréed beef, lamb, pork, chicken or fish or vegetarian alternatives (such as cooked and puréed lentils).

Puréed fruit without skins, pips or seeds – apple, pear, mango (cooking to soften if needed).
